Why do you need to have height safety measures installed? There are numerous times when you will require a new installation of safety equipment.
These are some of the most common reasons you may need a new installation: New construction Any time a new building or extension is built, height safety measures must be installed to comply with safety standards. Installation of new plant equipment on the roof If a new piece of plant equipment is installed, this may require new additional measures to be installed. I.e. A new walkway or handrail to access the area safely. Faulty or worn existing equipment On inspection, if a damaged piece of equipment is identified, this must be repaired to maintain a safe working environment and comply with the safety standards. Modifications done to roof If additional work has been carried out on the roof, this could potentially create an additional risk and will need to be accounted for. I.e. If a plumber lays down a new pipe over a walkway or heavy traffic area, this may require a step-over ladder to mitigate a tripping hazard. Identified new hazards When inspecting or auditing a roof, we may identify new hazards or possible weak spots in current safety measures that may require additional attention. I.e. A missing anchor point on a corner from initial installation. |
Safety Measures We InstallOur professional team of installers will only install market leading safety products to the highest standards available on the market. All installations comply with national safety standards.
Some products we install include but are not limited to:
|
Anchor and Rope Access PointsAnchor points provide a safe way to clip into and support a safe working environment. Anchor points are in placed strategically around the worksite/roof to ensure maximum coverage of all areas. Anchor points can be used in conjunction with other safety supports such as static lines and Guardrails. Anchor points need to be audited yearly to ensure that the points remain safe. You can see our height safety auditing here.
Mesh Walkways Mesh walkways are the safest way to get a footing on a roof, they provide a non-slip and easily drained, so no chance of water pooling in the high traffic area. There are mandatory around air conditioning units/pant. Walkways are also mandated if you have obstacles (i.e pipes, steps, wires, vents) above 300mm or are considered a "reasonable tripping hazard" require a step to be created over the object.
Static LinesStatic lines are a staple in roof safety, they are used mostly in place of anchor points, and as a means to support work being done on the roof. The key difference between static lines and anchor points being that a static line allows for lateral movement between points, which in some cases can be a better option than anchor points, but depending on space, require more clipping on and off.
Sky Light ProtectorsAS simple as it seems, skylight protectors are a necessity, the reason? If someone falls onto a skylight, there's no guarantee that it will support a human's weight, especially if that skylight has been in place for a long time, these can and do become brittle and will break leading to significant injury if not death. A skylight protector is in place to ensure these incidents cannot happen.

LaddersWe install ladder access to roofs, interior to roof, exterior to roof or platform and level to level.
Ladders are required for safe access to roofs and/or heights. We install ladders with mounting, handrails and the industry standard caged ladders. GuardrailsIf you have work done near to the side/edge of your building, a slope equal or greater than 12 degrees or if there is a chance to fall, a guardrail is needed to prevent falls. Guardrails are one of two main methods to prevent falls from the side of a building or side of a structure, the other being harness anchor points.
StepoversWhen you encounter small hazards on a roof or area and this may be considered a "reasonable tripping hazard" a step over will have to be installed to mitigate the risk of tripping. Very common to be retrofitted after work has been done. For instance, if a pipe has been run across a walkway by a plumber this will require a step-over as this can be considered a reasonable tripping hazard.
Davit and Needle SystemsHave people like window cleaners and other maintenance people require access to the roof and onto the side of your building? A davit system is probably the item for you. We install only the best products available, and our davit system is no exception.
